You know what a Ferrari V12 at 9,000 RPM sounds like. A Lamborghini V10 at full song. A Maserati straight-six. These sounds are famous because they are unlike anything else on Earth.

The EdgeEngine-2SD at 100,000 RPM produces a sound that has never existed before. A reciprocating piston engine turning 100,000 revolutions per minute. Exhaust pulses at 1,667 per second. A fundamental frequency at the upper edge of the human speech range with harmonics extending into ultrasonic territory. It does not sound like a Ferrari. It does not sound like anything that has ever turned a crankshaft.

And it does this from nine components. With zero oil. Zero emissions. Nitrogen and water only.

The Nine Components
Every internal combustion engine ever built has approximately 2,400 components. 2,200 of them exist to manage the consequences of using conventional materials: oil because metal slides on metal, coolant because aluminum melts, gaskets because casting cannot make one piece, valve springs because you need mechanical actuation. WATS-grown Diaphene eliminates every material consequence simultaneously. What remains is the engine reduced to its essential thermodynamic function. Nine components.
Top Module — One Monolithic Grown Piece
1
Fuel Injection System
EdgeFuelCell Module converts ammonium carbamate crystals to pure ammonia at injector inlet. WATS-grown Diaphene solenoid injectors. EdgeWATSOS software control. No carbon deposits. No injector cleaning. Ever.
2
Monolithic Engine Block
Cylinder bore, combustion chamber, cylinder head, intake manifold, and exhaust manifold grown as ONE continuous Diaphene structure. No head gasket. No intake gasket. No exhaust gasket. No water jacket. No oil galleries. One piece. Grown once. Lasts forever.
3
Electronic Solenoid Valves
WATS-grown graphene solenoid coils integrated into monolithic block. Sub-millisecond response. Replaces camshaft, timing chain, cam followers, rocker arms, valve springs, retainers, keepers, lash adjusters, cam phasers. All of it. Gone. Valve timing is a software parameter. 2-stroke or 4-stroke by recipe file change only.
Bottom Module
4
Crankshaft
WATS-grown Diaphene monolithic with integrated counterweights. Tensile strength >130 GPa. No fatigue limit. No grain boundaries. Lighter than titanium. Stronger than anything previously used in a crankshaft.
5
Bearing Caps
Structural retainers only. Crankshaft runs directly in Diaphene bore with MoS2 monolayer at friction coefficient 0.001. No bearing shell. No oil clearance. No oil supply holes. No oil pump to feed them. The bearing cap is a clamp. Nothing more.
6
Connecting Rods
WATS-grown Diaphene. Big end on Diaphene crankpin with MoS2. Small end on Diaphene wrist pin with MoS2. No bearing shells. No bushings. No replacement interval. Indefinite service life.
7
Pistons
WATS-grown Diaphene with MoS2 on skirt and rings. Two compression rings grown integral to piston. No oil control ring because there is no oil. Mass 70–85% lower than aluminum. Enables 100,000 RPM because Diaphene tensile strength exceeds all inertia forces at 300 m/s piston velocity.
8
Flywheel
WATS-grown Diaphene. Reduced mass because flat torque curve requires minimal rotational inertia smoothing. Ring gear grown integral to flywheel outer diameter. No press-fit ring gear to spin off at 100,000 RPM.
Drivetrain — Replaces Entire Transmission
9
Single Ratio Final Drive + Engagement Clutch
The torque curve is a horizontal line from idle to 100,000 RPM. There is no powerband. No shift needed. No transmission. One fixed ratio selected for the application. One clutch used only when stopped and when starting. That is the complete drivetrain. 40 Diaphene components versus 800 in a conventional automatic transmission. 95% component reduction. 90% weight reduction.
Nine components replace 2,400.Zero of the nine have a wear mechanism. Zero require oil. Zero require cooling. Zero require replacement. The engine that starts Daytona finishes it and goes back on the car for Talladega without being opened.
What disappeared.Oil pump. Oil pan. Oil galleries. Water pump. Radiator. Water jacket. Head gasket. Intake gasket. Exhaust gasket. Camshaft. Timing chain. Cam followers. Valve springs. Retainers. Keepers. Lash adjusters. Cam phasers. Bearing shells. Oil control rings. Spark plugs (diesel variant). Ignition coils. Knock sensors. Oxygen sensors. Catalytic converter. EGR system. Entire multi-speed transmission. Torque converter. Planetary gear sets. Shift forks. Synchronizers. Transmission control module. Transmission fluid. All of it. Gone.
EdgeEngine-ExtremeRPMPatent Pending — USPTO Filing 2026
Performance at Every RPM
Conventional engines destroy themselves above 20,000 RPM. Piston inertia forces exceed aluminum tensile strength. Oil film bearings break down. Valve springs float. The EdgeEngine-2SD has no aluminum pistons, no oil film bearings, and no valve springs. At 100,000 RPM the Diaphene piston reaches 157 m/s mean piston velocity. A conventional engine destroys itself at 30 m/s. Diaphene tensile strength exceeds 130 GPa. It does not notice.

⚠ You cannot keep it on the ground.

The Edge Mustang 5.0 weighs 655 lbs wet. Aerodynamic lift at speed exceeds vehicle weight at 97 MPH. That is below highway speed. Without active downforce the car is airborne before it reaches triple digits on the speedometer.

At 1,000 MPH the aerodynamic lift on a 655 lb vehicle is 70,167 lbs upward force. The car does not need wings at that point. It IS a wing.

At 2,198 MPH (T200 / 100,000 RPM) the stagnation temperature on the leading edge of the body reaches 488°C. Aluminum melts at 660°C. Steel melts at 1,370°C. Diaphene decomposes above 4,000°C. AristasTres tires are thermally stable to 4,000°C. The only materials on Earth that survive this vehicle at its calculated top speed are the materials it is made of.

The SR-71 Blackbird is the fastest air-breathing aircraft ever built. Top speed: 2,193 MPH. The Edge 8.0L at T200 / 100,000 RPM calculates to 2,570 MPH. Faster than the fastest jet ever built. From a piston engine. In a road vehicle body. On ammonia crystals.

This is not a car anymore. It is an unguided missile that happens to have wheels. EdgeInertia is not optional equipment. It is the difference between riding it and being killed by it at the first throttle application.

Torque curve: a horizontal line.BMEP is set by boost pressure from EdgeTurbo, controlled by EdgeWATSOS. Constant boost means constant BMEP. Constant BMEP means constant torque at every RPM from idle to 100,000. There is no powerband. There is no sweet spot. There is no shift. The torque is everywhere. Always.
Throttle response: 10–20 milliseconds.EdgeTurbo Diaphene wheels have essentially zero rotational inertia. Full boost in 20ms at any RPM. EdgeWATSOS monitors pedal velocity and pre-pressurizes the ammonia delivery rail before your foot completes the input. Tesla Model S Plaid: 100ms. EdgeEngine-2SD: 5 to 10 times faster than electric.
